Every day at Newcombe\u2019s Pub, nestled on the shores of the Northumberland Strait, is pretty much the same as the day before; and the regulars like it that way. Certainly it is a comfort to Matthew; until Elizabeth arrives in the neighbourhood, that is, and decides to try out the local establishment. Elizabeth has an unsettling impact on the Nova Scotia man, but then so does his ex, Sylvie. The Pub staff are no help at all, and it seems the resident gambler, Samuel, has also caught the attention of the newcomer. It\u2019s not surprising that Matthew doesn\u2019t know which way to turn as Elizabeth\u2019s year-long visit unfolds.<\/p>\n
