It’s a no pressure, no obligation, relaxing way to come meet a few friendly theatre people and get a taste of who we are and what we do.<\/span> Come join fellow theatre-lovers for a fun evening as we read the play Let Him Sleep ‘Til It’s Time for His Funeral<\/strong><\/em> by Peg Kehret. \u00a0Bedford Players’ play reads are an informal, fun gathering where everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n This is not an audition; there is no cost or obligation to participate.\u00a0 The event is open to everyone interested in reading this script as a group in a social setting.<\/p>\n Come meet some people interested in theatre. \u00a0Have a laugh. Have a chat. \u00a0Hear, or be part of reading, the play.<\/p>\n “Let Him Sleep Till His Funeral<\/strong>\u00a0by Peg Kehret\u00a0<\/span><\/i>is a convulsively funny comedy in which everything goes from bad to awful.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>John is anxious about turning 50 and having done nothing with his life.\u00a0His loving wife, Marianne, decides to show him he\u2019s wrong by hosting a surprise funeral instead of a birthday party.\u00a0Sounds strange, but her intentions are good \u2014 she wants him to know how much he\u2019s loved.\u00a0It\u2019s to be a fantastic surprise party for guests, relatives, the undertaker, and most of all, John.\u00a0But there\u2019s a mix-up. John catches wind of Marianne\u2019s plans for the funeral and assumes she\u2019s planning to murder him! So, he purchases a plane ticket to Mexico to escape.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>When Marianne finds the plane ticket, she thinks John is leaving her!\u00a0Their teenage daughter and the neighbours all have other even wackier ideas.
