Have a chat. \u00a0Hear, or be part of reading, the play.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>About the play:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Whereverville is a life-or-death grudge match for the future of Loam Bay, Newfoundland- a tiny outport community facing government resettlement in 1969. Abbey Shea, the local schoolteacher, finds herself fighting an emotional battle for the survival of &#8220;home&#8221;. Set entirely in a one-room schoolhouse in Newfoundland, Whereverville is a dramatic play which unfolds in &#8220;real time&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">-Play synopsis from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadianplayoutlet.com\/products\/whereverville\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Play Outlet<\/a> website<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>About the author:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"field-item even\">Josh MacDonald is a writer, actor &amp; director living in Dartmouth, N.S.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"field-item even\">In 2012, Josh wrote &amp; directed the short horror-comedy<em>\u00a0Game<\/em>. It made its debut at the highly influential Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX (The Alamo Drafthouse).\u00a0<em>Game<\/em>\u00a0has won \u201cBest Short Film\u201d prizes in San Francisco, Vancouver and Atlanta and has played festivals on five continents. Also in 2012, Josh was a creative producer on the U.S. Smithsonian Channel\u2019s\u00a0<em>Forensic Firsts<\/em>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Josh\u2019s play\u00a0<em>Whereverville<\/em>\u00a0 was created during time as Writer-In-Residence for Two Planks and a Passion Theatre.\u00a0<em>Whereverville<\/em>\u00a0was shortlisted for The National Arts Centre\u2019s \u201cOn The Verge\u201d Festival, and is published by\u00a0<a title=\"Talon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.talonbooks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Talonbooks<\/a>. He is also the creator of the award-winning short movie &amp; stage play\u00a0<em>Degrees<\/em>.\u00a0<em>Degrees<\/em>\u00a0is available in book form from\u00a0<a title=\"Playwrights Guild\" href=\"http:\/\/www.playwrightsguild.ca\/play\/degrees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Playwrights Guild of Canada<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"field-item even\">Josh was the playwriting instructor at Dalhousie University in 2006-2008, and he has also taught at the Neptune Theatre School. Josh remains a very active member of the Writer&#8217;s Federation of Nova Scotia&#8217;s &#8220;Writers In the Schools Program,&#8221; which works to inspire students from grade primary to grade twelve in finding their own creative voices.<\/div>\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"field-item even\">Josh is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal, Que., with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Specialization in Theatre Performance.
