I first became involved with Bedford Players\u00a0around 7 years ago when I was invited\u00a0<\/span>by Alleen Parsons\u00a0<\/span>to become part of the makeup team. At that time, I was\u00a0in my last year of high school and\u00a0had done makeup and hair for junior and senior high school performances. Immediately, I enjoyed the\u00a0experience;\u00a0Bedford Players offered\u00a0me an\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to continue doing something I loved. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Initially\u00a0I\u00a0started out as a member of the makeup team.\u00a0I\u00a0then\u00a0moved onto hair and wig\u00a0styling and\u00a0for several productions headed up the hair and makeup team. While doing\u00a0hair and makeup, I have also made some small props and\u00a0worked on special effects. I\u00a0have also served as a member of the\u00a0Bedford Players Executive\u00a0Committee,\u00a0conducted market research\u00a0and\u00a0data analysis\u00a0for\u00a0Bedford Players, and\u00a0helped\u00a0with play\u00a0reads.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The best thing\u00a0about being part of Bedford Players\u00a0is being part of a community.\u00a0Bedford Players is a close group of people who really value the productions they put on and respect their craft. The productions are fun and challenging and there are lots of opportunities to meet new people. It is also a great\u00a0environment\u00a0to\u00a0continue hone\u00a0my skills in makeup\u00a0and hair styling.\u00a0I have\u00a0learned a lot\u00a0with\u00a0Bedford\u00a0Players,\u00a0both I would encourage anyone who was thinking of volunteering with Bedford Players to\u00a0give it a try. It is\u00a0a great experience, a chance to learn about all aspects of theatre, and a place to meet new people. Bedford Players\u00a0is a welcoming community, no matter your background\u00a0and experience in theater.
