Featured Volunteer – February 2022<\/p>\n

I first became involved with Bedford Players before it was actually Bedford Players.\u00a0 All Saints Players was doing the musical\u00a0Oliver<\/em>\u00a0and I was asked to stage manage that. Later the group became All Saints Bedford Players \u2013 then Bedford Players. Before that, I did a little stint with The Basin Players which evolved through the Bedford Yacht Club.<\/p>\n

Some of the volunteer positions I\u2019ve held are: actor. Producer, member at large on the Executive Council a couple different times, and I\u2019ve worked the canteen and front of house.\u00a0 Also I am the charity liaison person.\u00a0 (If you\u2019d like your non-profit to profit \u2013 let us know.)<\/p>\n

My favourite of the above is definitely acting.\u00a0 It gets the adrenaline pumping & working with others to put on an enjoyable show is really rewarding.\u00a0 I\u2019ve jokingly, or, not so jokingly said many times, \u201cIt is a stressful way to have fun!\u201d\u00a0 … and that it is!\u00a0 In live theatre, lots of things happen & no two shows are the same! It adds excitement!<\/p>\n

The best thing about being a part of Bedford Players is the sense of family.\u00a0 Working together, supporting one another, and developing long lasting friendships.\u00a0 That and of course putting on a great show!<\/p>\n

Anyone interested in becoming a part of Bedford Players, I\u2019d say do it.\u00a0 Nothing to lose & lots to gain. Everyone starts somewhere & someone in your area of interest could walk you through what\u2019s expected. Whether it is acting, costumes, set building, props, stage managing, directing, producing, light and sound design, front of house greeter, or, other things. \u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s a fun group \u2013 not to mention the social times that happen after a performance!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
