About us:<\/strong><\/td>\nBedford Players is a community theatre in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Bedford Players has been producing quality theatre for over 40 years and currently produces 3 productions per season with 11 performances each.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Overview:<\/strong><\/td>\nOversee the management and reporting of the organization’s finances.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • Sit as a decision-making member of the executive board<\/li>\n
  • Participate in all matters related to the sound management and fiscal responsibilities of the theatre<\/li>\n
  • Ensure the accuracy of the accounting records<\/li>\n
  • Provide box office floats for each production<\/li>\n
  • Manage incoming and outgoing funds in a timely manner<\/li>\n
  • Report the financial position of the theatre to the executive and board<\/li>\n
  • Track all expenditures for each production and be able to provide a production financial report<\/li>\n
  • Provide advice to the board of directors on all financial matters<\/li>\n
  • Assist production teams with guidance in accounting matters<\/li>\n
  • Report the financial position of the Theatre to the members at the AGM.<\/li>\n
  • Review and reconcile the bank statements<\/li>\n
  • Complete reimbursement of members out of pocket costs<\/li>\n
  • Liaise with the ticketing partner to ensure correct production data is submitted for ticket sales to begin on time<\/li>\n
  • Receive ticketing financial statements and reports from the ticketing partner<\/li>\n
  • Work with the ticketing partner to resolve any ticketing-related issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Candidate requirements:<\/strong><\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • Flexibility to volunteer on evenings and weekends<\/li>\n
  • Experience with accounting for a community organization\/not-for-profit is beneficial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Other:<\/strong><\/td>\nGnuCash Accounting software is currently being used.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
