By Jean Kerr
Directed by Lorraine Cantwell
Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm (sharp) on August 11 & 12 (Sunday and Monday) at Bedford Players Theatre (upper-level parking lot at All Saints Anglican Church) 1408 Bedford Highway.
About the play:
Jean Kerr, the author of Lunch Hour, demonstrates her undeniably keen wit and indisputable comic timing in this clever play in which two couples, along with one irrepressible and somewhat irreverent friend, find themselves caught up in an unexpected roller-coaster of a journey filled with challenges, surprises and disasters that none of them could ever have anticipated. A posh, Southampton beach house provides the setting for this summertime romp in which the vices and imperfections of affluent Long Island summer folk are presented in all their splendor, and the play ultimately becomes something of a discourse on modern marriage when wealth mixed with boredom unravels what might once have seemed to be the perfect life.
“Lunch Hour (Kerr)” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
