Bedford Players’ President, Clair Henderson, recently presented a cheque for $1610.70 to Vanessa Burns, Manager, Special Events and Corporate Relations, from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“The Heart and Stroke Foundation would like to thank the Bedford Players for their wonderful donation. Together we are creating survivors.” said Burns, “A family history of heart disease and stroke can double your risk. So far, researchers have identified 20 per cent of the genes known to increase risk of heart disease and stroke. Doctors predict the remaining 80% of the genetic mystery involved in heart disease and stroke could be discovered in the next 5 years. But only if research continues. Your donation is helping to make that happen. For more information on our genetic research, please visit blog.heartandstroke.ca Thank you!”
The Heart and Stroke Foundation was the designated charity for the fall production of “Aspirin & Elephants” by Jerry Mayer.
For each production, Bedford Players donates $1 for each ticket sold to a designated charity. Patrons are encouraged to donate as well. These amounts are combined and presented to the charity.
Bedford Players were very happy to donate this amount to such a worthy cause!
